Raleigh Launches Social Drinking District

On Monday, August 15th, the City of Raleigh offically launched a pilot program, a new social drinking district. 

In an effort to support small businesses and create a more vibrant downtown environment, over 70 business will be participating.

Many North Carolina areas have already launched a similar program successfully, including Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro, Kannapolis and Monroe.

Those interested will be able to participate from 11am to 10pm, seven days a week within the district. 

Businesses within the district will have special signs marking their participation (see photo above). Alcohol will be served in a special cup and with a sticker that can be carried to your next location or inside participating shops and businesses.
