TOP TRIANGLE EMPLOYERS

State of North Carolina

The State of North Carolina provides jobs to over 24,000 locals. 

DUKE UNIVERSITY & HEALTH SYSTEM

Duke is the biggest employer in the Triangle, providing over 41,000 jobs between Duke University & Health System. 

UNC

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill employs over 12,000 people. While UNC REX Healthcare System employs an additional 7,000.

Wake County Schools

Wake County's Public School System employs over 17,000 in many aspects of education and support staff. 

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart offers over 16,000 jobs in the Triangle, proving to be a top employer.  

IBM

IBM is a leader in technology and computer hardware and provides jobs to over 10,000 people in the Raleigh area. 

Food Lion

Another big employer in the Triangle is Food Lion. The grocery store chain has been a staple in North Carolina since their first store opened in Salisbury, NC in 1957. They offer jobs to over 8,600 employees. 

Target

Who doesn't love Target? With a Target location around just about every corner, they also provide jobs to over 8,000 locals. 

Cisco

Another technology giant in the Triangle is Cisco. They offer over 5,000 jobs.

Other big employers:

While we weren't able to find stats on how many jobs each of these places offers, Amazon, UPS & FedEx are all major job providers in the Triangle.
