The Wilmington Riverwalk is the #1 tourist attraction in the area, stretching over a mile long with amazing views of the Cape Fear River and the Historic Downtown Wilmington as well as easy access to shops and restaurants. The wooden and well-lit riverwalk is popular at all times of the day or night. The creation and continuous addition to the attraction began in the early 1980s and has progressed immensely since then. There is talk about another northern ward expansion in the coming years. The Wilmington Riverwalk has been in the Top 10 or the running in the nationwide contest for “Best Riverwalk” consistently for the past few years!
Restaurants and Shopping:
The Cotton Exchange is a Wilmington staple located off of the Riverwalk. Here, there are shops and restaurants of all tastes and styles. Maintaining its original structure since just before the Civil War, The Cotton Exchange is one of the oldest, most historically renowned places in Wilmington, NC.
Cape Fear River:
The Cape Fear River is one of Wilmington’s staples and boasts amazing views as well as fun activities to do on the water. Here you can enjoy views from the Wilmington Riverwalk as well as ferry rides and tour the famous USS Battleship.
